Sofoil KZ and Nafta College LLC Experts Conducted Training on Multidisciplinary Oil and Gas Field Development Management for Specialists from KMG Engineering LLP and Embamunaigas JSC
The training took place in Atyrau, Kazakhstan, combining theoretical instruction with intensive hands-on work using the PetroCup simulator. Over five days, participants worked in multidisciplinary teams to analyze geological, production, technological, and economic data, examine operational scenarios, evaluate field development strategies, and make joint decisions.
During the course, the teams completed a multi-year development cycle for two synthetic assets. The first was developed with the support of trainers, while the second was managed entirely independently. The results of the independent work demonstrated that participants had successfully applied their newly acquired knowledge in practice, confirming the effectiveness of the course and its training format.
The hands-on approach helped participants gain a comprehensive understanding of field development challenges, recognize the interconnections between different disciplines, and strengthen collaboration among geologists, reservoir engineers, production technologists, production specialists, researchers, economists, and other experts.
In their feedback, participants highlighted the value of teamwork, knowledge sharing, and the opportunity to learn from one another. The PetroCup simulator received particular praise for its ability to model realistic operational scenarios, assess the consequences of decisions, and put theoretical knowledge into practice.
We would like to thank the specialists from KMG Engineering LLP and Embamunaigas JSC for their participation, engagement, and productive work!
