Moscow, Russia: SPE Workshop on Carbonates

21-22 February 2017 Sofoil participated in the SPE Workshop on Carbonates in Moscow. Over 30 presentations were made during 2-days workshop.

Traditionally the workshop was cover main areas of carbonate oil and gas reservoir exploration and development: from reservoir characterization and management to stimulation and drilling challenges. Special focus was made on case studies, optimal recovery strategies and areas, where new ideas and technologies are required.

The workshop coveres the following topics:

• Geology and carbonate reservoir characterization
• Geological and full field modelling
• Carbonate field development
• Carbonates reservoir stimulation and recovery recovery optimisation

Vladimir Krichevsky (Head of DMG dep, Sofoil) delivered a  presentation "Carbonate reservoir waterflood efficiency monitoring with cross-well pulse-code testing".  Presentation has been prepared jointly with Kazakhoil Aktobe company and during Q&A session, the audience expressed their interest in the unique and impressive solutions of studing oil and gas fields.
