PRIME Successfully Tested on a Real Asset: Pilot Project Completed at Petronas

PRIME is one of Sofoil’s key services — an advanced tool for reservoir development analysis using elements of artificial intelligence. The service operates based on the PolyPrime module developed by Polykod.

PRIME provides AI-assisted recommendations based on the market and corporate economics:

• on investments in new wells drilling
• side-tracks
• flow profile control (water shut-offs, stimulations)
• increasing well productivity
• improving waterflood performance (through production optimisation and conversions)

During the pilot, the system was used to identify additional production growth opportunities, highlight key challenges, and provide a deeper understanding of reservoir behavior. Special attention was given to the analysis of remaining reserves — their localization within the reservoir and approaches to bringing them into development.

Based on the analysis, a set of actionable recommendations was formed to increase oil production at a mature asset. The results were delivered to management on time and received positive feedback.

The project concluded with the signing of a document confirming the effectiveness of the solution and opening the way for further implementation of PRIME at Petronas.
